Chaperone Service to GZ China

Recently, I brought my friend to Guangzhou China on a purchasing trip. My friend Joy is in a mascot business.

Translated Work - a business magazine

I have done a translation work on a 2 page article, translating from English to Chinese (simplified chinese) for a business magazine Feb 2010 issue and Apr 2010 issue. The earlier issue has been printed. I will take picture and feature in here later. :)

I have turned down one job - translating a contract. It was too technical and is legal-related; I thought to leave this to the professionals :)

I look forward to editorial, narrative or marketing slogon, promotion write-up kind of translation work.

The rate I charge varies from $30 - $50 per A4 page depending on the difficulty of source text (i.e. frequency of technical terms used in the document such as medical or scientific report, legal contract and etc)

Translation Rates

Rates
Translation fees vary from project to project. Generally, my prices are based on a per-word rate as determined by subject, language and format requirements of your document. The words in the source text are calculated by MS Word. To obtain a quote for your particular project, please provide the source text for free estimate. There's no cost and no obligation.
English to Chinese: USD0.08 per word.

Rush Service:
The turnaround time necessary to complete a translation will depend on the volume, and technical nature of the material to be translated. Generally, the daily workload of my translation is approximately 3,000 words. To ensure the quality translation, I only commit realistic turnaround time. If rush service is required, we will have to reach an agreement on the delivery deadline and payment term separately.

Payment :
50% payment as deposit to start the translation work. Upon completion, the balance 50% to be paid upon receipt of document.

Post-Project Evaluation :
To help me enhance my service, I normally would like to have a post-project evaluation meeting with my clients. There is no charge for this.

Credentials
Obtained certificate from Singapore Polytechnic in 2003 on Chinese-English Business Translation course.

Personal Translator Services

Thank you for browsing this website. This is a personal blog site.

I am a young Chinese Singaporean. I have worked in a multi-national corporation for more than 10 years. Part of it - 5 years were outside Singapore in Hong Kong during which I picked up Cantonese langauge. Additionally, I worked with various nationalities in a regional job capacity which meant that I understand how different culture & country background developed the different working style of my multi-national colleagues.

After which, I resigned from the corporate world and decided to go into language thing. I then worked in a kindergarten in Shenzhen, China. I was a recruiter and trainer for English teachers for the kindergarten. SO I have a great exposure in the chinese culture in China on ground.

Other than the exposure to the different culture and country background, I was also exposed to various languages. I am fluent in English, Chinese and Cantonese. I write and read English and Chinese language. In my church, I join two services - English & Chinese. I am frequently called upon to translate(speech) from English to Chinese simultaneously on stage to congregation, or one-to-one when I am chaperone over Chinese visiting pastors.

Besides, I also assist in translating for English to Chinese or Cantonese in various ceremonies - such as wedding, funeral or house warming.

To further equip myself, I have studied a business translation course (English-Chinese) offered in Singapore Polytechnic.

Having said the above is to qualify what I could offer as service to you :

Office Admin :
